Yep... Here's the same... it's difficult starting without any experience... All I can say is... I was VERY lucky! just 1 year after school I got the job

Yeah, our system appears much more open, but in reality it works in a similar way. Most airlines will not hire entry-level, so most mechanics start on either commuter jets (embraer ERJ, bombardier CRJ, turboprop commuters), or private planes ranging from cessna 150's to citations and gulfstreams. In order to do a major repair/alteration, there must be an IA (inspection authorization) present which requires 2 yrs experience as an a&p and another test.

Nice! here after highschool you get the "basic" license, but there are 4 types... the "under supervision" (basic) the "A" for less than 5700 Kg MTOW and "B" and "C" for more than 5700 Kg MTOW and "C" allows you to certificate modifications on airplanes. Being A 2 years of experience, B 3 and C 4 I think and now the ANAC (Argentinian FAA) is implementing an exam to get the different licenses...

It's fairly involved, but the license allows you to work on anything here. I graduated HS, then went to a specialist school for around 2 years, then took 3 written (general, airframe, powerplant) and one oral/practical test to get my a&p license, though if you have (I believe, not sure) 2 years experience, you are not required to go to a school in order to take the tests.

Hey! how's the deal to get the A&P license there? Here is just a regular high-school but with the aeronautical orientation, of course.
