Picture 22 of 31 from Album Single In March

Day 10..

This one is more about the story than the photo itself. Back out now if it is going to disappoint you that I was not an angelic teen.

You've been warned.. The photo is about what Use to stand here rather than the church that does now. What once was here was the Harbor Theater. At one time, it may have been a regular movie theater but that isn't what it ended its life as. There were a few that went this way and even one drive in theater that I can think of. It became a theater that screened adult type movies. You know the type, the ones that any unscreened search will now turn up on the internet. For a fee of about $5 you could sit through a double feature with a live burlesque stage show between the films. Having just turned 18, naturally I couldn't resist satisfying my curiosity. The curiosity didn't last long as I pretty quickly decided that if you've seen one, you've seen them all. I guess it helped that not too long after my discovery of the place, it closed down, was torn down, and this church (it says Serbian on the front) was built in its place.

Anyway I hope the old theatre added more life to the area than this - in my eyes - boring church.

One extreme to the other, a (questionable) activity place to a holy temple.
    Well things come and go.
I liked the bench story better.

With no story, you'd never know the church hadn't been there all along. Funny how things can change so much, yet quickly afterwards we almost forget how it previously looked.

There are probably a couple parts I could have left out of the story. People on the threads group aren't touching this one with a 10 foot pole. I agree, the church is pretty boring as a structure goes and were it not for the story behind it, my camera would have never aimed at it.

The theater, in my short experience with it was just as seedy and dirty (not well kept) as one might imagine it being.
