@plantej : thank you for compassion, I'm much better these days, these are short fallings in a global alcohol-free life but still painfull, hopefully the last one only lasted 5 days and was able to stop quite easily before being realy ill, it's a hopefull progression IMO
Sport and photography help a lot ! (spirituality too but that's another story^^)

sorry Plantej not to answer so much, I'm sick these days, Alcohol problem, I've been 1 year without drinking anything and fell in the poison 2 weeks ago... I must not drink at all, otherwise I can die and hope I'll be able to stop that in 2 or 3 days. Cheers.

Hi I didn't see these replies until now. Thanks for conversing and replying and the interesting input. I am glad you like the US and our culture. I think it is not far from French culture. There are things I prefer about French view of life. You have reason to be proud of France that is for sure. Yes you would like Beale Street in Memphis and maybe Graceland too. I have been to both and they are well worth the time. Yes I believe a person who visits another country should at least learn the basics and make the effort to speak the local language. And I am glad you have an American accent. I am well versed in the blues too. Good stuff. And I am quite taken by the French music scene from the 60's and 70's. Sylvie Vartan, Francoise Hardy and many more. Of course Edith P. who cannot like her emotion and power? Renaud, Dutronc, Montand, G. Brassens, Forestier, Moustaki...

Bonjour bygp. During the last 6 years I have immersed myself in French. That is to say I have during my spare time learned by many tapes, CDs, programs on the internet, correspondence to some friends in France and by video on YT and buying DVDs and movies to understand French as written and spoken. Speaking is much more difficult. As you have said European history is complex. Yes I am familiar with the fact that the Celt's were in France too maybe they originated there just as you have described and called Gauls by the Romans. I have seen that video too from YT. Very good song in it.
I think that France has some of the most diverse geography, people and culture than most countries in the world. The US and France have an ongoing friendship and alliance since our founding. Lafayette, DeGrasse, etc. I am also a child of Nouvelle France via Quebecois since 1640s.

    About Me
I currently live in the south of France, traveled a lot (not for holydays) and am from britany (not UK, west celtic part of France). Learned photography basics very soon, in the 70s first with a tiny Kodak case, then with a great Minolta reflex my father gave me. I still feel doing real photography only using a reflex, digital or not. Mainly interested, as I'm also an illustrator, by art photography, B&W first, then color. I like to shoot but love to develop on my PC, learning tricks days after
    Interests
vintage, geek, writing, reading, games, sports, nature, architecture, dogs...
