Photo of the Week # 135, Oct. 10-23
Posted By: reeftool, 10-17-2010, 10:10 AM

I'll stay at it another week as my spare time was severely limited this weekend and was unable to pass the baton.

Welcome to the 134th edition of the Pentax Forum's Picture of the Week!

This edition covers photos taken between October 17th to 23rd 2010. Or, shots from last week you haven't processed until now.

POTW is a great place to show what you're shooting day-to-day with your cameras. It gives us all a chance to see what other members are up to with their Pentax cameras in their parts of the world in which they live or have visited. We can share ideas and hopefully learn from one another!

Same rules as before:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Under 6 images per post so the thread doesn't get too big.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung SLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR.

4) Date: Sunday 10 October to Sunday 23 October 2010. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via PM. If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator via PM.

Previous hosts: Each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look back at the previous POTW's. 1 Peter Zack, 2 Eaglerapids 3 rmtagg, 4 Peter Zack, 5 daacon, 6 Bramela, 7 mtnbearhug, 8 dantuyhoa, 9 gawan, 10 roentarre, 11 daacon, 12 Kris, 13 mtnbearhug, 14 SCGushue, 15 daacon, 16 maxwell1295, 17 dantuyhoa, 18 daacon, 19 maxwell1295 19(2) daacon, 20 Bramela, 21 Syb, 22 maxwell1295, 23 maxwell1295, 24 dantuyhoa, 25 Gawan, 26 Peter Zack, 27 borno, 28 daacon, 29 gawan, 30 Damn Brit, 31 maxwell1295 32 maxwell1295, 33 dantuyhoa, 34 daacon, 35 Peter Zack, 36 Damn Brit, 37 Borno, 38 Kevint, 39 Peter Zack, 40 Timbo13, 41 daacon, 42 daacon, 43 gawan, 44 dantuyhoa, 45 daacon, 46 Rense, 47 daacon, 48 Rense, 49 borno, 50 Rense, 51 daacon, 52 Peter Zack, 53 Peter Zack, 54 dadipentax, 55 David Whiteley, 56 planedriver, 57 daacon, 58 Bramela, 59 daacon, 60 gawan, 61 virgilr, 62 daacon, 63 RickL, 64 Peter Zack, 65 Peter Zack, 66 Causey, 67 daacon, 68 Bramela, 69 georgeweb, 70 daacon, 71 seacapt, 72 daacon, 73 AOski, 74 Rense, 75 eccs19, 76 daacon, 77 xs400, 78 daacon, 79 Bramela, 80 borno, 81 legacyb4, 82 daacon, 83 gawan, 84 Rense, 85 Peter Zack, 86 davef, 87 davef, 88 xjjohnno, 89 Bramela, 90 Peter Zack, 91 daacon, 92 stevebrot, 93 reeftool, 94 jezza323, 95 oldschool, 96 Iris, 97 Rense, 98 planedriver, 99 xs400, 100 Peter Zack, 101 Netuser 102 Photolady, 103 Tamia, 104 Irishwhite, 105 Ramseybuckeye, 106 xjjohnno, 107 Bumbibop, 108 JeffJS, 109 Tpeace, 110 Nomad, 111 Photolady, 112 rparmar, 113 Peter Zack, 114 casil403, 115 Tamia, 116 JeffJS, 117 bbluesman, 118 Clou, 119 ruggiex, 120 Jimbow007, 121 jmschrie, 122 VaughnA, 123 pop4, 124 casil403, 125 woof, 126 twitch, 127 stevebrot, 128 ohce, 129 jmschrei, 130 photolady, 131 photolady, 132 bbluesman, 133 rparmar, 134 reeftool, 135 reeftool

I spent yesterday at a car and tool show sponsored by the local Snap-On dealers. Some co-workers and friends had cars entered and I went to shoot. The show sponsors liked some of my shots and they have inquired about buying some so I guess it was a well spent day. I have over 200 to go through and do some PP on. Car show lighting is always tough with reflections coming from everywhere.

Thanks reeftool for volunteering for another round. It is suddenly glove weather here this weekend but I did get out to a nearby park late yesterday afternoon and although the majority of the deciduous trees are now bare there is still a great autumn glow.

Some nice autumn scenes. It was cold and windy at the car show also. It snowed the night before everywhere above 2000 ft. I was fortunate to win one of the door prizes which was a new jacket.

It's Pano Time

Thanks reeftool for sticking with it

Some great car shots well done. Love the wide angle.

jmschrei - I hear ya on the weather went out this morning -6C Brrrrrrrrrr - nice shots. I thought you guys got some snow on the weekend ?

Clou - Nice series I like the broken cross the best.

pfh - nice ship shape shots

It was a great morning. I got up early (well I get early EVERY morning haha ) headed out about an hour before sunrise. A tad chilly as the morning temperatures are now below freezing. I was fine except my hands got a little cold. I got quite a few pics - here's a preview of some of the Pano's I took. If you click on the image you will get a much larger view.

I think this is my favorite.

This one unfortunatley the ball of fire is the middle is way overexposed still there is something I like about it.

Here you can get an idea of some of the frost on the ground and the ice in the water.

Reeftool, thanks for the double duty hosting

Went Amish Counrty in Harn County, Ohio Saturday morning:

This Hawk flew along the road beside me, then landed on this pole and was not happy when I stopped to take his picture:

Spent a couple hours at a wildlife preserve to see squirrels and this dragonfly:

A couple from a walk this afternoon. Both taken with a Komine Vivitar 28mm f/2.8. The first shot also had a 13mm tube attached. Both handheld.

Frosted Crap

Well here is one photo where you can say that is crap and no one will be offended - Little morning frost to add some color. I damn near put a size 11 foot print in this one it was hidden pretty good (and me not really looking down).

Went for a walk today, and got a couple pictures.

1. I like how these trees are "tied" into each other.

2. Christmas is getting close. They are out harvesting Christmas trees.

3. They were using this old truck with the tree harvest.
