This week's photos will cover these dates: Sunday September 21st till Sunday October 5th.

Let's keep up the high standard of shots we have seen over the past weeks.

Rules as before:

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week .
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Runs for 7 days. Sunday September 14th to September 20th.

I wasn't even going to go out before worship this AM because it was drizzling and kind of foggy,but I got a couple I liked. Here is one

Tom - stunning photo! Muted dark colors of the water surface in contrast to the bird, reflection, just perfect!

While deciding to order or not to order Lensbaby "Composer", took an old 2.0 for a walk with +4 Hoya close-up filter:

Gawan: Thanks for getting the thread started. If those pictures are from your neighborhood, I think I would like to buy a place and move in!

borno: Beautiful bird shot. I love the dark water.

Duh_Vinci: That is truly striking work with the LensBaby. I don't know how you guys do it that take pictures of dragonflies and such. If I get within 10 feet of a live bug they bid a hasty departure.

I would have some to post myself, but there is 15 feet of damp, newly-cleaned carpet between me and my camera bag. Later this evening perhaps.

Here's my humble entries.
All taken with Voigtlander 58 1.4 nokton that I got last week and have been having fun with DOF.
The second shot, I was testing out low light capabilities, that is the deck of the house below us about 70 feet away.

Georg - thanks for starting POTW29 off to a great start. Love your first one, the color of buildings , the framing very nice. #2 could have been taken 50 years ago if it were not for all those modern cars. Sky's are a hard to expose for sure it does not take away too much from that photo well done.

Adrian - much easier handle - glad you enjoyed the POTW threads - they have been fun.

Tom - wow glad you did that is a great shot. Love the water color and the mirror reflection.


D - Wow ! That is a wonderfull photo so much blur and so much color and detail excellent !

Gary - quite a variety there. I like the first and last (makes me dizzy!) the best. Well done.

It's been a little too long since my last post here.
Testing out a newly purchased Sigma 105mm macro. I missed having that lens. Yes Dave I had to get it back as soon as I could.

Makes a decent tele lens.


And a very nice macro lens.

Finally one from a recent wedding and yes I'm over my knees in the water!

I shot the wedding in the rain yesterday. The couple had a great outdoor
wedding planned on a hillside with the ocean behind etc. Everyone was
seated and the groom was waiting with his best man. The bride drives
up and exits the car. I'm already to go. The heavens opened up and it
was too late to change anything. I ran the AF540 off the K10D and the
*istD with af400T inside for cover. Then shot the wedding with the
K10D and DA16-45mm alone (periodically using the pop up flash which
did the job as fill just fine). I was SOAKED (everyone broke out the
umbrellas since the forecast was for possible showers). Actually had
to change pants and shirt after wards (I always carry spares of
everything including cloths). Hard to shoot with a camera and an
umbrella so I just kept on going.

The service ended well and the rain stopped. Camera and lens performed
without a hitch. (work great today as well) People were staring at me
and many asked afterward and suitably impressed with how fine a Pentax
is. I never miss an opportunity to talk up the K10D whenever I'm asked.

Well, I guess I am lucky sometimes. I was out yesterday morning looking for something to shoot and went down to the wildlife refuge near my home. Normally I see wildlife, but the distance is usually at least 50 yards. As I was entering the refuge, I noticed a bird shape on a post at the side of the road. Rats, I thought, as soon as he sees the car, he is going to launch. However, just in case, I rolled down the window and had the camera at ready. To my great surprise, he just sat there as I pulled up, put my truck in park, and proceeded to squeeze off five shots. Now the longest glass I own is a Pentax-M 200/4. The picture below is uncropped. I guess that shows how close I really was.

Peter - nice to see ya taking a break from the everyday ! Great shots. I really like the Wedding series the red clay is a PEI landmark. Yes weather sealing is indeed a good thing got to test it out myslef last week. Haha great to see ya getting the Sigma back - I enjoy it need more pratice on Bug marcors !!!!

Steve - wow what a great capture of a majestic bird well done indeed!

Here are a few from accross the street. The boys were out having some fun. Not the sharpest photo's but you get the idea These little guys were gas powered and they could really motor !

No "Sorry" needed , my friend . It's a fine image . It's okay to break the rule ! If you want to play around sometimes , take two meter reading : one for the brightest part and another for the darkest . Use the middle exposure value for shooting. That often works out .

Peter, that last bee has a close proximity the really stands out! Love the wedding couple, a rare occasion when I really think a leaning horizon is in order, super!

Steve, very handsome hawk! Stands out from the background nicely.

James, I love the colour zones in the first photo! The last, is that an athlet?

Dave, I just realized that I cycle every day past a horse stable, when I go to work, must bring my camera with me tomorrow!
