Same here, wishing everyone very best holidays and may your wishes and dreams come true in 2009!

I finally know first hand how enjoyable DA* 50-135 can be, now that I have great copy:

And this one I felt was in need of a little desaturation and grain...

Dave,
thanks for hosting once again! I love to see your snowy land, not much snow around here (begun to freeze though).

DuhVinci, if Santa had given me that lens I would have taken it :-) Amazing clarity from a classy lens and photog!

Dave, here's something you will remember, cause you've posted pictures of 'the bean' in Chicago from the same artist.

It's Anish Kapoor at the Deutsche Guggenheim Berlin. It's kind of a rusty giant seed crammed into the room, and around the corner
there's a window-like opening where you can look inside the thing (but can't enter it).

Love and peace in 2009 :-)

Thanks for hosting Dave!
I finally got a couple of half decent shot of a Kingfisher, I had to crop a good bit though. Not enough light for a TC as it was just after dawn.

Duh Vinci - the DA* 50-135 is a sharp bugger I can atest to that. Nice isolation on the leaves. Good PP on the last one I agree the grain makes the shot.

Georg II - THanks for the comments. Cool - the artist sure has a thing for eliptical shapes. That is a great shot of a bizzare piece of art.

Dazman - nice of you to join in I am glad you squeezed off a few shots. Those are beautiful flowers makes me long for things that are 4 or 5 months away from here yet.

Tom - great shots of the Kingfisher and with a fish ! Looks like a morning well spent.

Georg - Thanks for the comments. Love that first shot. Nice capture of the crystalization around the rocks.

a few more from the lake over christmas

Great start all keep them comming

Dave, great start with those snowy scenes and you continue to make it colder down the page.

D, you are the master of decay and I like the third shot, something different from you

Georg I like your second shot, the over exposed background reminds me of the end part of Close Encounters (the light emanating from the bowels of the spaceship

Daz, beautiful colours and that's a cute little dog shot

Tom, what a way to end the year

Georg (the original) I like your crisp and soft idea, well executed

Susan, your first shot is beautiful and your second is a nice slice of life shot.

I went to a 95th Bday party on the 27th, managed to get a handheld panorama of all but two of the guests. They weren't very cooperative but at least most of them were facing the front.

Two shots hand held, merged in Elements 6

Susan - wow that first shot is very surreal and nice capture on the net cast

Gary - thanks for the comments - wow you did very well - I see a lot of little ones that have the attention span of a gnat. That is a great photo. There are over 50 people in that shot amazing.

Here is our Dog - he is quite old 13 years and his activity level at home is pretty sedentary most days. Out here in the country he did enjoy spurts of energy and I actually saw him run for a bit - a lot of our extended family had dogs and unfortunatley Jack (our dog) is the only one left - first christmas he was the only one there in many years....

On odor detail while some of us were skating ...

Out enjoying the walk

had enough and heading back to warmer environment

Every year along about this time these little guys pop up in the back yard. They are the only nonpotted flowers we see for a couple months. I enjoy them while they last (which is not long ) . So when I saw it was going to be a pretty day , I got outside and took these in varrious stages of early morning sun.
HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL

I came a cross this scene walking around in the woods near my house. This was new to me. What struck me here was the tree growing directly on top of the rock.

Wow. As usual, there are some great photos on this thread! Here are two that I took this past Sunday. Although it was windy, the temperature was in the low to mid 60's. Happy New Year to all!
