Potw #43, 12/24/08 - 1/12/09
Posted By: gawan, 01-05-2009, 04:18 PM

Looking from Europe it seems to be proper time to start a new POTW, so as I'm here, I'll just start it

Welcome to POTW #43, 12/24/08 - 1/12/09

This week's photos will cover these dates: Sunday Dec 21st till Saturday Jan 3Rd 2009

Let's keep up the high standard of shots we have seen over the past weeks.

Rules as before:

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week .
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Runs for 14 days. Sunday Dec 7th till Saturday December 20th.
5) Enter anything you shot last week or this current week until the thread closes.

Gawan (Georg the 1st),
I bet you have tagged your 'Gawan'-thingie somewhere there :-) Nice and colorful!

Tom/Borno,
but that cat does not look like you - err your avatar, I'm saying. The peanut is doing what I have done extensively lately, but that changed now since the sun is shining again.

The spherical tank does show the world: North is freezing, south is sunny :-)

But north starts to melt a little

Snow and clear blue sky is very nice (I almost forgot about that),
Georg (the 2nd)

Thanks for hosting Georg -looks like a good place for graffiti art indeed does it change much I wonder?

Tom - they talk about it being a dog's life looks like a cat's life to me...

Georg II - sun shinnng and snow melting already !! Not fair - nice shot.

A couple more from the weekend.

Georg I, well done for hosting again. It's about time we gave in and accepted graffiti as art. We would have a lot more to photograph and the world would be a lot more colourful.
Tom, nice cat, they pose so obligingly when they are on the couch or bed don't they?
Georg II, please put comments ABOVE the pics, I was looking at it for ages without figuring the first one out, without success, then I scrolled down.
Dave, Flaming heck, you've got more pictures of snow than the Inuit have words for it and it's only January.

It's not a great shot, but I like this one.

Thanks Georg, I am leaning towards a solution that I should be called just gawan, so many humorous variations...

I like the snapshot of yours, the icicle is excellent!

I could not find my teen age tag there any more but seems like some one has painted a portrait of me there, I'm afraid
.

Gentleman , please excuse me for not commenting on your work earlier. It goes without saying ,you all take some fantastic shots.
Gary -I like the branch/sky shot too
Georg- the ice flow fisheye is cool
Dave your flame shot has an unreal quality to it
Any how on New Years Eve I was working at the beach and finished about 45 minutes before sunset. Tough choice , go get a beer or take a walk and take some pictures. All I had with me was my ist and a 35-80.One of these days I gotta get some money and buy some better glass but I'm still pretty happy with these.Sorry no snow!
