Photo contest. With prizes!!


Ben (benjamin59) who has sold quite a bit of gear here from his friend’s estate https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/photographers-marketplace/50552-next-lot-...additions.html is putting a few of those lenses up for grabs to see some of your best shots!

He would like to give back a little to the forum members in a gesture of thanks to all the people who bought, waited patiently and helped out.



So there will be a photo contest that we will run for 1 month.

End date March 22, 2009 23:59 PST

Prizes awarded by March 29th.

Judging will be done by Peter Zack and Ben Kivett. Ben will have the final say on the winning selections.

So the theme is Landscapes, Urban or Nature.

That means 2 categories:
1) Urban Landscapes
2) Nature Landscapes
Please indicate which in your post (even though it should be obvious). You can enter one shot per category.

No particular guidelines and we’ll let your imagination control your submission.

1) Each person can enter 2 photos. One for each category. Please enter each photo as a separate post to the thread. Every member of the forum is eligible. (Except Peter and Ben)

2) You can change your submission right up to the last minute.

3) Each photo needs a title and up to 50 words in the description if needed. But photos that stand on their own, without words (but still has a title) will get a bonus point in judging.

4) Minimum post processing. B&W, cropping, sharpening, cloning, white balance, curves, levels, etc are fine. Please don’t take a background from one shot and layer it into another. We’re looking more of what you actually shot.

5) There is a random picture prize. That is there to encourage everyone’s participation. If there are 136 entries, we will put the total number in a random generator and award the prize to the person that has that post number. Please do not post comments on the thread. Pictures only. If the number drawn for the random winner is also a 1st ,2nd or 3rd place winner, we will draw again. So any picture could win a lens.

6) Picture can be taken at any time, Old or new.

7) The photo must be taken with a Pentax camera. Film or Digital. Samsung DSLR’s qualify as do Pentax P&S cameras.

8) EXIF must be intact. If it isn’t we may ask you to provide the data. If the shot is a slide or scanned, then this rule is waived. Please indicate if so.



Lets have some fun and everyone participate! We wanna see 500 + shots. When the contest closes, then the comments free-for-all can take place!
