Welcome to Picture of the Week 07/05/09 - 07/19/09 #70

I am going to be out of town from 16th - 20th July so someone else is gonna to have to start week 71 It's easy to do ... anyway for now here we go !

Thanks gerogweb for hosting last weeks POTW thread it can be found Here

Once again same rules and really other than time frames there are no rules

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date : Sunday 07/09/09 to Sunday 07/19/09. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

Some from our visit at the Railway Museum in Utrecht last Friday. Most are heavily PP'ed, hope some of you will like them...

Resne - thanks for the comments. Yes the gooslings grow up so quickly . I really like the pp on the train series. Well done.

xjjohonno - nice park series. I am tempted to go out tonight and shoot a few. Birds in a tree are almost as hard to focus on as birds in flight. Nice capture on the last one.

Here are a few of the wife's flowers growing in the back yard. These are perennials, them come back every year. You know as nice as they look we borught some in last week and they smelt like sh&#@ I don't know why - so we just admire them from afar now.

thanks for hosting Dave Another week already! I caught these sphinx moths near my tomatoes. Lucky they left, I'm pretty sure their larvae are the dreaded tomatoe hornworm.

Dave Thanks for hosting, nice sh#$&^%y flowers
Rense - I really like the train series.
xjjohno- I still have a hard time grasping the idea that these are just common sky rats where you live.
Borno -I'm not sure how to comment other than nice close focus.

Here are afew snapshots from a recent trip to the boat shop at the NC Maratime Museum

Rense, love the pics of the engine, especially love the angles you used to give the images a bit more impact.

Daacon, nice flowers...i think the lack of continuity of that middle flower actually adds to that image.

Seacapt, cool boats. Love the one of the finished boat at the dock.

XJJ, i really like the angle of the shot of that first black bird.

borno, nice job catching the moths in action

here's a pic from me. i went to my alma mater to shoot some pics for the project 52 this week and on my walk back to my car this flower jumped out at me. She's very photogenic...I snapped off about 20 of just this one flower. This one happens to be my favorite.

It was a mostly work around home weekend for me. I finally got the yard mowed (it was beginning to resemble a hayfield) after a brief letup in the rainy weather. I did get the kayak out on the lake Saturday afternoon ( just before the rain started again). Not too many photo ops but the fish were biting.

Thank you all for the comments on the train shots!

Xjjohnno - great bird shots. It's a thing I still have to practice.... The second one is very attractive!
Dave - nice flowers! It's always hard to catch the white with enough detail, but you did very well
Tom - very good shots, nice creatures, but you're right about their larvae....
Ken - I like these boat shops a lot!
Dan - great flower shot.
Reeftool - it took me some time to realise what the last one was... Nice shots!
Georg - nice ones, I like both of them!

Here are some more from our last days in France last week.... It's a pitty to be back home again....

Thank you Dan! It was much harder than I thought to get a decent shot of those lavender fields....
