So it's time to see your stuff from last week and this upcoming week.

Welcome to POTW #87 and counting. Nice stuff last week posted here https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/mini-challenges-games-photo-stories/78371...-8-2009-a.html

Again same rules and really other than time frames there are no rules

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date : Sunday 10/25/2009 to Sunday - Sunday 11/08/2009. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

Previous hosts: (each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look past at the previous 86 weeks. Peter started the links, I know it had to be a lot of editing!!

Davef - Thanks for hosting. A few to get things started. There is something unsettling about an empty carnival.

Some pictures from when me and my friend went into the woods for 4 day hunting trip. We didn't do much hunting as it turns out and spent all our time taking pictures :P (never even loaded the gun)

Heres us when we went in. (note same bed roll and gun)

Note: My finger is not on the trigger, I got a page of comments of people lecturing me about trigger discipline when I posted this on my local hunting forum..

Some macros from the trip.

I'm still processing most of the pictures, got some of a few deer.

Ken, I like the merry-go-round horse. I agree -- an empty carnival always seems cold and bleak to me.

Paul, those hawgs seem pretty well dressed. It is getting a tad cold for biking around here.

Javin, nice macros and there are any who feel that hunting with a camera is more sporting.

Here are a few from a swim meet this weekend. Shot at 3200 with the K7. They are pretty noisy but, IMO, quite serviceable for small images.

Nice ones so far.

And a few of mine - when I could get out and about:

And something with passion:

Variety

A real mish-mash from me this week - with a nice variety of lenses used:

1. Finally got my Tokina 500mm f8 mirror lens on my new (to me) K20D - 1/640, ISO 400.
No PP, just a crop:

2. My daughter tracing cartoon characters at the children's museum in Ogden, Utah.
She does the same thing with her tongue when she plays sports.
This is with the K100D and PENTAX-DA 18-250mm - 1/30, f/4.5, 43 mm, ISO 800
(auto white balance in portrait mode - looks like it nailed it):

3. Our 20-year-old cat. K20D with PENTAX-F 50mm F1.7
(a beat-up throw-in I got with the K20D - I really like this lens) - 1/640, f/3.2, ISO 200:

4. Some test shots of spruce needles using my new (to me)
Tamron SP AF 70-200mm F2.8 on the K20D - 1/500, f/7.1, 160 mm, ISO 200 (manually focused):

5. Free tram ride at Snowbird resort with food donation last weekend.
We're on 11,000 ft (3,353 meter) Hidden Peak. Was 29F (-2C) at the top.
K20D with the DA 18-250mm - 1/500, f/14.0, 26.9 mm, ISO 400:

6. Same combo (K20D with the DA 18-250mm) for a portrait of our 13-year-old dog.
1/100, f/5.6, 100 mm, ISO 200:

Like I said, a hodge-podge of images with a 5 different combinations of camera & lens. I'm happy with my array of lenses, just missing a wide angle variety.

These are in the bizarre sports category - they were taken at halftime of a soccer match last Thursday:

Skydiver approached with flares burning:

Don't know what happened here, but I think it was caused by the stadium lights, 2 seconds before the last shot:

Skydiver nears the pitch:

Pentax SMCP-FA 28-200mm f/3.8-5.6 AL, f/8.0, 1/4, ISO 200, 200mm

I had the opportunity to attend a work event last night to do some informal photography. One of the highlights of the evening was a performance by local music artist Art Napoleon.

A shot I thought looked better in B&W.

200mm, F3.2, 1/40, ISO1600

two of many

These exposures are from a brief period during which passers-by asked what I was photographing, as they didn't want to miss seeing whatever it was. One person said she was a former photography student. A nice guy seated on a bench where I photographed the moth took the time to point out other insects.
The conversations were as much fun as the photography.

K100D, SMC Pentax Macro 1:4/100, ISO 200, handheld, aperture priority, cropped and tweaked in iPhoto, files downsized in Elements
