There were some screaming deals going on, especially on the higher priced lenses. I didn't see anyone buying up large quantities for resale. They had tons of K-5's (only the original one, not the II or IIs), a bunch of Q's, some K-7's, some K-1's (no bargain on those though), and a large variety of lenses. They even had a few 645's.

People were filling up those postal crates when I was there. Saw one group buying five K-5s -- no one was buying dozens of things that I saw though. I didn't buy anything -- spent too much lately on gear and nothing I really needed within my price range. I've never heard so many Pentax "focus confirmation" noises in one place before...

The five K5 kits were going to a local community college. I walked out with an FA31, DA21, DA 70 and an 18-55WR for a grand total of $961.33. Pretty happy with that.

They had DA 17-70s for $363; FA35 F2 for $237; DAstar 300 f4 for $750 and DA12-24 for$400.

Lots of stuff, lots of deals. Suprisingly busy, but they did appear to have lots and lots of stuff.

WHAAAAAAAT?

That's insane. All that great stuff, for the usual price of the FA31 alone -- which as far as I can tell is never discounted.

I was thinking about a WR since I don't have any and was tempted by the 50-200 -- how much was the 18-55WR? I may go back and see what's left...

.
That's one hell of a deal... considering the going prices of those on this forum is $850, $400, $600(?), and $100. You got it going about 50% the normal price!

i posted some photos of the sale on this thread https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/general-photography-industry/215587-penta...ml#post2279596

I got a Silver 77 FA Limited for $480... (there were a bunch of black 77s new in box, don't know the price). the 31 Limiteds are new in box for $787. mine was new without box at $765. There was a Made in Japan 31 Limited with a shiny chunk of something (looked like glass) behind the first element that they discounted down to $300 right in front of me. I had been holding it, but that weird chunk of whatever kinda freaked me out so I handed it to the salesperson. had I known she was going to mark it down so crazy, I think I would have taken a chance - but you never know!

some other prices: a new K5 in box for $513, Q with 01 Prime for about $210, two lens Q kit for $255. DA* 200mm for around $670.. it's crazy.

Wow, great deals. I would have jumped on either of the Q deals since I don't have an 01 yet and could always find a use for another Q body. Hopefully some deals turn up here. If anyone wants to pick up a Q kit for me, please PM me.

Serious stock-clearing going on here. Add this to the Q deals and the K-01 Fire Sale and methinks something is afoot in Pentax Land.

Warrantee question on new (discontinued) purchases -

I saw someone quote the price of a "New" K5 of $513. Would something like this be eligible for a 2 year extended warrantee? (and if new bodies are sold on Pentax Forums, what will the warrantee situation be?). At that price, I'd love one - especially if one could get the 2 year extension...
