Which photoeditor

I've already asked this question before and I'm thinking about getting pspx2 but I read some bad reviews on amazon about the startup time and some weird program attached to it called psiservice.exe. Should I be worried about this and is the program really that slow? I'm still trying to decide what to buy please help.

If this is what are you looking for, than you have to try this:

Zoner Photo Studio 10

I am using Zoner Photo Studio 10 for about two years

Highly recommended!

I think Elements have the most of the tools you need as an amateur.
OK itīs more basic than CS3 but for me it have all I need to edit my photos and I realy canīt afford the CS3.
The album function is very easy to use with an easy tagging function.

It is too bad that you have limited the poll to 2 companies.
I use PhotoImpact. Adobe's PS uses the technology developed by Ulead - the original owner of PhotoImpact, now part of the Corel Group.

Why not give Raw Therapee a try? > Towards RawTherapee v2.4 - The First Milestone

It's cross-platform, completely free, and it works much the same way as Lightroom.

Thanks for the other options I'll look in to them too. By the way have any of you used PSPX2? Is it really that slow? And are there any problems with it like causing your computer to crash or something? When I was looking up reviews I went to amazon and most of the people liked it but some people really hated it who should I listen to?

I've used Elements in a pinch when I didn't want to install anything too heavy onto a computer and just need to edit a few photos. I had a free copy that came with my old Nikon digicam. Its smooth, pretty intuitive (then again, I've been using Photoshop roughly since I could walk) and relatively feature-rich. I haven't used PSP in years and years, so any comments I could make about it would be really unfairly obsolete.

I use Paint Shop Pro X fo my jpeg pictures. I haven't done any RAW photos yet. I have never had any problems with it.

I use ACDSee Pro, and wouldn't even consider switching to another.

I like LightZone Basic, though I may upgrade to the full version at some point. It's "just" a photo editor, not a full-blown graphics editor, so it doesn't have the graphics editing features of many of the other apps. No matter, I have no need for them, anyway. I also find the zone concept much easier to use and more intuitive than curves. YMMV.

Why CS2 rather than CS3 on your poll?

I use PSP X2 and have been quite pleased with it as an editor, and the functionality. The only issue I have with Corel is the responsiveness, or lack of, when new cameras come out.
