hi there, im new, i like in the uk.

ive had a fuji S5600 for a few years now, and thought id upgrade, got a good deal on a *ist DL on ebay.

my question is,is there an available grip for the DL model, i know there is one with a vertical release for the D, but i cant find anything for the DL.

1. is there one for the DL
2 if not will a grip from a different model fit on, w/o shutter or batteries, purley to make it larger ?

many thanx

Don

Sorry Don,
There is no grip for the DL. I haven't heard of anything else that would fit the bill here.

There is one from Dicain I believe that works. I can't vouch for it, never used it - but I've heard of it. Here is one listed on ebay - its for a DS but the bodys are the same as far as I know eBay: Dicain SG1 SG-1 Shutter Grip Pentax *ist DS w/ Box Inst (item 140090297306 end time Mar-02-07 15:59:24 PST)

CCallana got it right. Only one manufacturer I know of and that's the one. Never used it because I am hoping that this company will build something for the K100D. Here's a link to their website.

Dicain

You can check around e-bay. Now that the K10 is out, a few DS/DL users are upgrading, and may have a grip available.

I was going to suggest a WTB post in these forums, but looks like someone may have found you already!

Have fun!

A bit late on this, but there are two third-party companies who make grips for the Pentax that I've found. Unfortunately, both are made overseas and are hard to come by.

The first one, as mentioned is the Dicain Sub Shutter Grip SG-1. I was actually looking for this for quite a while and now there's a user on eBay who usually puts them up for sale every week. I just purchased one and am patiently waiting on it. As the website states, it'll work for the DS/DS2/DL models and features a vertical shutter release and remote control terminal.

Another one is by Ownuser and from what I understand features two battery clips built in which accomodates eight AA batteries - great for long shoots. It's a bit too bulky for my taste and I opted for the Dicain since it has more of an OEM look to it and I don't really have problems running low on batteries. On the main Chinese page of Ownuser, it looks like they just released one for the K100D as well.

Nice find! I'm still waiting for a grip for a K100D though.

Not sure if you caught the last sentence, but Ownuser does make one for the K100D - they just released it. It's just not listed on the English site, only the Chinese site - Ownuser Chinese site
