I have a tiny LowePro bag that holds almost ten--TEN--manual lenses. Plus small accessories.

Camera stays on shoulder.

See, to me carrying around ten lenses sounds absurd. But hey, it's your back.

Ira,

It must be painful. I am sure some minor surgery could remove it and, perhaps, some plastic surgeon could fill in the indentation it leaves.

Sympathetically,

Mickey

P.S.
I cannot help but admire your genius in being able to make a selection from among so much excellent glass.
I would never be able to make such a decision. I hesitate with 3 lenses and am often wrong.

At the very least you deserve a place of honour in the photographers' hall of heroes.
M.O.

Once at sundown when the light was fading fast I had an epiphany.
Time spent changing lenses was pure frustration and meant lost shots.
Since that day I carry just one or sometimes two extra lenses in my kit.

My wife and I are planning to take a bus tour of Mackinac Island in late August and I'm trying to decide which lenses & my K10 to take with me. I think I've settled on my 17-50 F2.8 Tamron and my 50-200 DA Pentax lens. I've decided to leave my Tamron 50-200 F2.8 at home because of it's weight. I'll also leave my 18-55 DA kit lens at home because of redundancy. I don't think I'll take my 540 flash, but I will take my charger and extra battery, and 4 extra SD cards. Does anyone have any suggestions for kit I might be overlooking?

Here's another backpack apparently designed with DSLR users in mind:

Well, I'm back from our trip and I packed the above mentioned gear and my fast 50 in a fanny pack and carried the K10 with the 17-50 Tammy. I used mainly the 17-50 and the fast 50 (one time) and nothing else, so next time I'll concentrate on packing light.
