Sigma EF-500 DG Super update!

After reading that sigma has a free update for combatabilty with K100 I decided to call them to see if an update will solve the wireless problem with the K10 and they said yes there is and it is included with the k100 update

yes! finally maybe I can get some use out of this flash unit

Where does one get the update? I have googled the term with no luck and have searched sigmaphoto.com with no luck either.

It's a hardware upgrade and the flash needs to be sent in to a Sigma repair centre for the hardwiring to be performed. It was free when I got it done over a year ago in Australia.

I believe that there was actually 2 updates for the firmware on the Ef-500. I had both done, one then the next about 6 months later but they do fix issues with the k10d.

But you do need to send the flash into sigma repairer to have it done

in canada, this place does the distrubution and repairs for the sigma flash

Gentec International
e-mail or calle them (there might but an online request form not sure) , but what they told me is to send it in with a copy of the receipt (as well as what they need to do to it) and they fix then mail it free of charge
