Are the 1750mAH batteries on ebay any good for K10D or GX10. I am worried about them exploding or leaking inside the camera.

i recommend you buy a $30 charger

and get 8 Energizer 2500mA batteries for about $40

they last hundreds of charges, and allow you to take 200-300 pictures

i think the 1700mA power on those batteries are a bit low

I don't have the K10 but a warning to those ordering AA batteries (and perhaps others) over the net, especially unbranded. You may and probably will have a problem with them.

They don't take the charge correctly and you may need to charge and discharge them several times before you're able to use them.

You might want to look here before buying and using any of the cheap batteries from e-bay.

I wouldn't use them in my camera.

CTA Batteries

I would reccommed CTA Batteries:
CTA Rechargeable Battery for Pentax K10D D-LI50 D-L150 - (eBay item 160177844956 end time Nov-17-07 12:02:39 PST)

I've also purchased from Cameta before and they're very helpful. Anyways, I've had good luck their batteries.

Cameta is a real store (and a decent one at that) with a fleebay account, so they'll stand behind their products.
However so many stores just re-badge their items, or buy the rejects.
I'd be leary of buying from most on there.

With eBay be sure of the reputation of the seller - ebay is full of fake batteries - the energiser you buy might not be an energiser. ebay is great for buying cheap camera gear but I would never dream of buying a battery or memory card on eBay - too risky.

cheers

I think the OP is talking about the battery for K10D, not the rechargeable AAs for K100.
And for the AAs, the new Hybrids are better,
since it'll keep charged longer when stored in
camera.

Not sure where you are located. If you are in the
US, you can try the BH store, they had the NP400
(for Minolta), which is of the same size as the
one used in K10D.
