Photome with K-01 photographs - Pb

I like the EXIF reading software Photome (www.photome.ed). It provides some very detailed and useful information. With my K-7 photographs, it works fine: Open a photo with Photome, and then go to Image, scroll down to Manufacturer's notes.

But it does not work with my K-01 photographs. A recent discussion (https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-k-30/203523-shutter-count.html) suggested that there may be the same issue with the K-30's images.

Would anyone know why Photome works with K-7's images and not K-01 or K-30 images?

Thank you in advance.

Maybe photome isn't updated with those cameras yet.

If PhotoMe isn't working, just use exiftool. Last I checked, it reads K-30 and K-01 images OK.

For several years PhotoMe seems to have been ghost-ship software.

It works with RAW, but not with K-01 jpg's.

Interesting -
PhotoMe does not properly display the manufacturer's notes in JPG for the K01 or K-30 -
Pentax K01 JPG

Pentax K-30 JPG

But can display that information for the paired RAW/DNG
Pentax K01 DNG

Pentax K-30 DNG

One might think it is perhaps because the K01 and K-30 are "new".

BUT PhotoMe does display the correct Manufacturer's Notes for JPG in the even newer K-5IIS (as well as the K-5II)
Pentax K-5IIS JPG

So...
it might not be PhotoMe - even though it is no longer updated/supported -

Could it possibly be an Error in the Pentax information? -
it could even be as simple as a "Data Offset" error -
which Pentax may be able to correct with a Firmware update?
