Another K20D Review

Just saw another review from one of the tech site I visit frequently.
Pentax K20D digital SLR | Register Hardware

Not too much image test, but more towards the general look and feel + setting up kinda stuff.

Overall they gave K20D 90% out of 100%

The summary
QuoteQuote:
The K20D is a serious piece of kit, which demands serious lenses to get the best quality from its 14.6-megapixel sensor. Getting the thing set up to taste requires close attention to the manual and plenty of unhurried tweaking, and accordingly it's a complete waste of time and money if you just want a competent but straightforwar digital SLR. The camera's weakest point is its flash, but that's hardly an issue for potential customers who'll certainly already have a better alternative, or will quickly get one.

Hey mcjm78, thanks for the review. One of the things in this review which is new to me is the following statement:

The K20D apparently boasts "72 seals on the camera body and 38 seals on the battery grip combine to ensure that humidity, dust and sand cannot adversely affect the camera", although there doesn't appear to be a seal to protect the top-mounted pop-up flash.[/

Does anyone know if this is true? I find it hard to believe Pentax forgot/failed to seal the popup flash?

Regards,

Ernest

If you look at diagrams previously published by Pentax at the intro, you clearly see the flash is sealed. The flash compartment is not sealed, but the water/sand can't get into the flash itself. No need to put a seal when it's not needed.

Maybe I'm the ignorant one!
Nevertheless, tell me: what is a 100% camera !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can't? No? Now, what are you talking about then?

And now you can answer me: yes, you are ignorant! And that's the only answer you can give???

Thank you very much!

I do not know what you mean by "diagrams previously published by Pentax at the intro." Diagrams in this review?

I've seen a diagram in a mag (unfortunately, I don't remember which one, but I'm trying to find it) that clearly shows the flash is sealed. The flash compartment IS NOT sealed, but this is of no consequences since the flash is sealed.

For those that need another review:

Steves Digicams - PENTAX K20D - Hands on Review

I had the K10D and liked it a lot, like the K20D even more. Great camera with more features than i'll ever fully learn to use and all those lenses!
