Which of these two is smaller than the other? I know that the DS uses a pentaprism and the DL uses a pentamirror, but I can only find dimensions for the DS.

Same size. However, DL is lighter at 470g, DS weighs in at 505g.

The larger LCD on the DL doesn't change the dimensions at all?

DPreview quotes DL dimensions as 125 x 93 x 66 mm, the same as DS.

same size, but DS is a better camera. It has Pentaprizm vf and dedicated sensor for TTL Flash. LSD screen is smaller, but not by a big margin .

Yep, and this is why original *istD are so hard to find those days. They are the real keepers, unlike later K***D cameras with just plain LCD screens.

I wondered why people kept licking the screen on my DL ..... they said it made the pictures dance ....... i never understood untill now
