Best Pentax K20D Prices

Well i figured now is a good time to upgrade, but i cant find a good deal on the K20d, I have a K100 and love it, but I just want to go ahead and upgrade, K100 will stay in the family as one of the backups though. I do need the kit though, because im gonna keep my other 18-55 with the k100 for my mother to use.

Ok well onto the prices, I have found the k20d to be reasonable at Best buy but only problem is its online only and they are sold out.

Kit at best buy - $779.99 - ? with tax and ship
PENTAX - 14.6-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera - Black - K20D & 18-55 Lens

Kit at walmart with sling and 4gb mem card - $749.00 - $807 with tax + sh
Walmart.com: Pentax K20D 14.6MP Digital SLR Camera - choose Body Only or Camera/Lens Kit option - Bundle includes Pentax Sling Bag and 4GB Memory Card: Digital Cameras

Kit at B+H - $754.95
Pentax | K20D SLR Digital Camera Kit with 18-55mm Lens | 19411

Besides these I cant find a better deal. I dont really want to pay over $750 for the whole kit with tax and shipping but its looking like thats gonna be impossible. I like the walmart deal but I was pissed when I learned about the tax.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hello, I have the 18-55 AL II kit lens in the marketplace. It is new, un opened from a kit I got from B&H. Will sell for $105 shipped to Georgia (US State not country) , just find your body (B&H is $619 shipped) and get this lens and you have it under 750.

I don't see why you should get another kit. not really an upgrade if you juts give the old one to your mom and the new one to yourself. I think you should seriously consider investing in a better lens, such the Pentax 16-45mm f/4 or Sigma/Tamron 17/18-50mm f/2.8 OR better yet, get a normal prime like the Sigma f/1.4 or old FA-35mm f/2 OR 35mm f/2.8 LTD macro (although the latter is expensive).

I have a 50mm prime and two 135 primes which are fine for my everyday stuff along with the kit lense. Im pretty sure going from my 6mp to 14 is a pretty good upgrade. Not to mention my body has some dust in it, it needs to be prof cleaned, and its got a good bit of actuations on it.

Using the kit lens on your K20D won't really reap any benefits though. The kit, to be honest, isn't that great of a lens resolution wise, contrast wise, distortion wise, in fact, it is the WORST lens in Pentax's current line up (also the cheapest). I really hate mine and I will try to get rid of it as soon as I get my 35mm f/2 and when I can afford a 12-24mm f/4.

But I digress. You should really save up a bit more and then buy a better lens to get the best out of your K20D. The Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 is a full frame lens, but you don't see anyone using it on their 10MP 1D mark III.

Plenty of Kit lenses around

I realize you said you want them together, but from what I could see, that;'s definitely going to cost you more money.

I bought my K10D with the 18-55 (not the WS version and not the 18-55 II, at least I don't think it is....), but I only did that because the kit at the time from Dell was actually less than the K10D alone from anywhere else. (This was back in Sept 2007.)

So, I have two kit lenses, the one that came with my ist DL, and the one that came with my K10D. I opened the 18-55 box, took out the lens and took one picture with it, just to make sure it worked, then I put it back in the box. I had always intended to sell it on eBay to get back $50 or so, but I just never got around to it. (I have several lenses like that ... I tend to "accumulate" more than "liquidate"....)

Someone else has already offered to sell his lens to you; I would be willing, as well. But really, just check out eBay, craigslist, and even the used sections of B&H, Adorama, KEH, etc. - you can find this kit lenses very easily.

KEH has seven of them right now, ranging in price from $69.00 to $115.00.

And if you wanna buy mine, I'd be more than happy to sell it to you.

Find a walmart associate here in the forums and he will have the 10% associate discount and that would slash your tax to nothing.
Then just have it shipped from site-to-store and you won't have to pay for shipping too as it will be shipped to the walmart store nearest you and you just pick it up once it is delivered there.

"Ya'll" would prefer to buy the body @ a good price and buy the lens (I'd prefer an aftermarket lens.) separately.
