Medium Format

I know there was a recent thread very similar to this one, but my circumstances are perhaps a bit different.

Given that I am nearly blind and that autofocus is therefore very, very important, if I were interested in medium format, which way should I go? Mamiya 645 looks good, but Pentax 645 is also tempting despite the lack of a digital back. If memory serves Pentax 67 is *not* autofocus. I confess this is largely hypothetical given my financial constraints, but someday ...

You are correct that 67 isn't autofocus, the 645 is.

The 67 has an immense viewfinder though, and coupled with a split screen prism is actually quite easy to manually focus.

The Pentax 645N and 645N II are auto focus not the "old" 645 . Just try to clear it up for you .

You can try the Contax 645. It's auto focus and you can buy a digital back.

Is Contax still in production? I am not as up on these things as perhaps I ought to be, but I thought Contax and Bronica have both shut down.

For that matter, is Pentax still making the 645N II and 67II? I saw on B&H's web site that the 645 NII was discontinued, but elsewhere on these forums I saw that Pentax would continue production of both those two film bodies.

Contax 645 was discontinued about 3 years ago but you can buy a brand new one somewhere.
