Pricing change from Eric

I don't know if this was covered elsewhere but Eric has changed his pricing for CLA and repair. In this day of increasing costs, he LOWERED his. This is what he has on ebay:

Due to the current rising cost-of-living with the increased gas prices, the food, clothing, and just about everything else; I’ve decided to decrease my repair cost to you. No more 10.00 for any major part if your camera needs it, just the 5.00 for seals because I have to pay for them. The shipping is still 8.00, labor is now 50.00 not 55.00

All units will fall under this area except for the LX and 6x7 but will do my best to keep the K2’s and ES’s in this cost reduction program.

Amazing. Prices go up so he lowers his.

And on top of that I hear he is about as good as it gets. I hope he's not doing this because film cameras are not getting enough use.

Eric is a Gem - I have posted that here and other places many times.

[EDIT] Per his email response to me on June 22nd, Eric has indeed lowered his prices.

I suffer more from body-buying addiction than lenses and I'd guess Eric has done 10 or 11 bodies for me since 2004 (I buy them, use them for a while and sell them - then I want another) - 2 Spot's, 3 KX's, 3 K2's, an ME, an MX, an ME Super.

Eric's website still reads $68 for a standard CLA for the Spotmatic, K1000 and MESuper.

[EDIT] He has not yet updated his website.

We ought to ask Eric if he really has changed ALL his prices - or just the ebay offers - before we post this up.

I sent an email as soon as I read this post.

Peter Zack: I agree...I do not like the thought of a world without true cameras and true photographs.

I've never met Eric, but I like him already! I hope his price reduction causes him to be as busy as he wants to be!

Don't forget Eric can service your Pentax lenses, too.
They too will work like new when he is done with them.

He can also service other major camera brands.
Before I became an enlightened Pentax user
Eric repaired Nikon and Canon SLRs for me.

That is good to hear. I have a half-birthday coming up and my beloved Nikkormat needs some work in a bad way. A CLA would do it a lot of good and the shutter sticks at speeds below 1/30.
