Nice photo. What is the statue and is there a story to it? Doesn't look like it is in the most cared for of locations. K.

Somewhere in Brooklyn. There is some art school and various sculptures in the square.

I finally finished a couple rolls and got the results back from the lab this weekend. Mostly, I was hoping to capture signs of spring, but I did occasionally get distracted.

All images are lab processed and scanned. Apparently there was a scanner issue with the Kodak Gold roll, as many digital images have a horizontal line through the middle, but the prints were fine.

Daffodils, KX, SMC-M50/1.4, FujiColor 200

Azaeleas, KX (black), SMC-M50/1.4, Kodak Gold 100

Manny, KX (black), SMC-M50/1.4, Kodak Gold 100

Tractor, KX, SMC-M50/1.4, FujiColor 200

I've also been on a mission to capture the local blue birds using the SMC 400/5.6. But I'm realizing I have two major problems: one, I can't get close enough, and two, the birds are too fast for me. Even so, I'll keep trying.

Blue Bird at Distance, KX (black), SMC-400/5.6, Kodak Gold 100

cheers,
Fred

Wuzut,

Awesome shots. That first guy must be in the hospital recovering from a hip replacement.

I like the photos but it looks like a few of them have a horizontal line running all the way across them. Was that Superia 200 or the cheaper C200?

The Fuji wasn't marked as Superia or C200 - just FujiColor. It's the stuff that WalMart sells.

And yes, there's a horizontal line at the same spot in almost the entire roll of the Kodak Gold. I'm pretty sure this was a scanner issue at the lab. The coresponding prints don't have the lines, so that tells me the negatives are fine, and I could scan them myself. But I'm just not up for scanning 36 images this weekend, especially after paying for the same thing. The lesson here is that even a lab known for its high quality work will occasionally slip up. I sent the lab an email to notify them of the problem. Not sure what their response will be, but for $2.99 I'm not sure it matters to me.
