My first shots - indoors ISO3200 with DA Limiteds and XS

Pouring rain outside (I wouldn't want to go out regardless of weather sealing - I'm not that weather sealed ), so I shot some around the house. I tried all the DA Ltds in similar shots, though I didn't use a tripod, just shot them like I would normally.

First, with the DA40XS

Next the DA40 Ltd:

DA15 Ltd

DA21 Ltd

DA70 Ltd

My first impressions are that the camera is well-built and handles fairly well. The "chunkiness" makes it easier to hold in the right hand. Controls seem okay, though there are less buttons than the K5 (of course). The INFO screen is pretty handy, though, so I don't have to dig into the menus too much. I remapped the red video button to Focus Peaking, but I haven't tried it out yet. AF speed seems fine, about on par with my K5 for these casual shots. All the lenses I tried above focused well, except the DA70 hunted a bit in the very dark light (probably due to lack of contrast). All in all, I'm impressed. IQ seems pretty much like my K5, which is what I expected. Handling with the DA Limited primes is great, and it seems like they are tailor made for this camera. I didn't really want the DA40XS, but I wanted the white kit and that's how I found it, so I may just sell the lens. It really is tiny compared even to the DA40 Ltd.

Anyhoo....maybe it will clear up a bit so I can get out and take some pictures this weekend.

Here are some phone cams of the K-01 next to my E-P1. I still like the style of the E-P1 better (to me, it's just a beautiful camera), but the K-01 trumps it in every other way for what I want.

-> rfortson - could I possibly entice you to take a few pictures of your k-01 with the different ltd. lenses on it. Or are there already similar images on the web?

Shots of DA40XS and DA40ltd look very alike. Although, it can be seen that focus point is a bit deeper on the DA40XS picture, so it looks like the picture is more blurry. Do you feel like these two lenses are abotu the same in terms of optical quality?
Where both pictures taken an f2.8?

I don't recall seeing a comparable series of images using the same "everyday" subject (i.e. not a test set up) with different lenses like this. I've known for a while that I need a DA70, now I *really* know I need a DA70!

in fact you should use a tripod.and set the same parameter(same positiong, same setting)
it will make the compare more clear.then it will leave us more imformation.
