Splendid shots Rondec and Norm! That last waterfall photo has a 'you are there' quality that's rarely seen.

Cameras- Pentax K-01, Sigma DP2 Merrill
Lenses: Pentax 18-135, Sigma 8-16, Sigma 70 macro

From yesterdays walk a 14 km round trip walk into Perly's Chute, one of our favourite fall destinations (and place of the demise of 3 kayakers over the years).

The main camera body is a Pentax k-01 with Sigma 8-16 and SIgma 70 macro, with possibly a few 18-135 images as well.

The area...

The foliage...

And one Sigma DP2M image, I don't get a lot of useful images with this camera yet, but when you nail one, the detail is incredible.

Have you noticed how the best K-01 photos just keep getting better and better? Norm, those leaves and waterfalls are stunning, and Rondec, your San Diego photos are primo. Great work!

Thank you. San Diego is a great place, but the K-01 is a great camera just to bring along anywhere.

These are wonderful photos with the 18-135. Were they handheld?

ISO 1600, SMC-M 50mm at f2, available (awful) Mercury Vapour street lamp, at the end of the Williamstown Pier, with Melbourne actress & model Samira Amira.
Post work is a bit of playing with the highlights and shadow settings in Lightroom.

There are some nice examples of the K-01's capability in this thread. Hopefully these are up to par; any feedback is most welcomed.

Cheers!

First photo is a quick snap I got lucky with. That's a turkey vulture, btw.
DA 40 XS @ f8 1/400 sec. ISO 100

Second photo is a photo of my Coleman camping stove flame right before it burned my garage down.
A 50/1.7 @ f2.8 1.6 sec. ISO 100

Third photo is the first photo I took with a newly aquired S-M-C Tak 200/f4. Wasn't really thinking about composition and details, just set it up on a tripod in the backyard real quick to make sure there were no obvious problems. I love the way the S-M-C lenses render on the K-01.
S-M-C Tak 200/f4 @ f8 1/8 sec. -1.3 EV ISO 100

All photos are from raw using Sagelight 4.4h.

Kika - a portrait

Here's my daughter Kika's hands caught off guard. She cried out 'oh no!' when I took it, then chimped at my K-01 and said 'oh, okay'.
(40mmXS - that's all I use for now. I have an smc 50 f/2 on my K1000, but I already feel cramped at times with the 40 so I'm hoping to stumble onto a reasonably priced 21 or 28mm at some point).

I look over here very so often, you guys have some very excellent shots posted...some amazingly good!
If the K-01 just wasn't so damn ugly! Can you picture it in a Fuji X-body...maybe one with a viewfinder? It would sell by the millions!
Yes, I know, beauty is only skin deep, but the K-01 has some thick skin! Sorry, I'm not being very polite I know, but I do wish Pentax would make a camera that had some real sex appeal in a mirrorless camera that produced results as good as you guys are posting here.

Regards!

You guys are really making great images with the K-01. Impressive!

The image quality of the K-01 is superb producing high quality photos. I love to apply its strengths to astrophotography. Here is the results of 1,260mm telephoto @ f/6.3 using ISO 400 and 1/500 second exposure.
