HDR made with the bracketing feature rather than the in-camera HDR. The lens was my old cheapie 50mm film SLR Rikenon that I love so much.

A Barn Owl photographed at the Hawk Conservancy near Andover.

I used the DA 55-300mm at full zoom. Auto focus was sluggish but accurate. The photo was cropped from landscape to portrait orientation.

I'll be adding some more to my Album as I process them.

Nice, Jim! Did you buy a K-01, or do you get to use so many cameras that you don't need to buy one? What happens to all those cameras that get reviewed? Pentax Forums raffle!!!!

Very nice, Alfred. I haven't tried any of my longer lenses yet on my K-01. This one shows it can obviously be done.

Just as with the K5 photo thread, I am seeing some excellent shots here, which goes a long way to justify your guys satisfaction with the K-01. Some of us have no use for the K-01, but it can't be because of the IQ, can it? If that is what counts most, and it should be, then you have every right to be well satisfied from what I see here.

Regards!

The K-01 is a review loaner. The cameras have to go back after the reviews are finished, although sometimes that doesn't have to be for a month or two--depends on how hot the camera is and how many review samples there are to go around. I was very pleased to get the K-01 this early--sometimes the wait can be weeks or months. Do plan on shooting with it as much as possible over the next couple weeks, and plan on giving it a workout with the K 28mm f/3.5 and K 85mm f/1.8--but I do miss having an eye-level finder.

I only have two digitals that are my own right now--a Sony NEX-5N and a Leica M8. But I've got more film gear than I can shake a stick at--four Pentax KX bodies, an old Rollei, Hassy 500C, Leica M3 and CL, a few Mamiya TLRs, and--just for good measure, a Diana F+.
