I acquired something very interesting. . .

There's practically nothing written about this lens on the internet. I'll post a full review with test shots at a later date, but for right now, let me just say the first test shots render very. . . uniquely.

If I ever find one of those things I'll have to buy a K-01, I wouldn't risk doing the mirror lockup with the K-5. I'm curious to see what a non-retrofocus 21mm will do on digital.

The reason nothing's written on the internet about it is that this design was bought along with full rights by a certain camera maker, which released it as a premium lens... However, certain prototypes have survived to this day, despite the company's efforts to keep them a secret so as to make their users believe it was their original design.
[conspiracy mode off]

Looking forward to images.

So it doesn't hit the shutter?

Was looking at this lens earlier this year but gave it up as I was afraid the rear element would be to large to fit inside the K-01. Damn it now I might need to pick one up after all.

Jpg straight from the camera, f/8 Surprising center sharpness as old M42 super wides are not exactly known for being sharp.

Nope, but it's tight. The rear element is almost the same dimensions as the hole.

Well non-retrofocal lenses are usually sharper, the purple vignette is probably from the light spreading at a too sharp angle, did not expect it too be that extreme though.
