Another option is the software Photome (PhotoME - Exif, IPTC & ICC Metadata Editor). It provides all EXIF data including the shutter count of the camera. (The software is free.)

Interesting:
With my K-7, it works: Open a photo with Photome, and then go to Image, scroll down to Manufacturer's notes.

But it does not work with my K-01. You may have the samew pb with your K-30's images.

Would anyone know why Photome works with K-7's images and not K-01 or K-30 images?

Hcc - That's a nicely detailed Exif program. Some might be interested to know that it runs stably and quickly with Wine in Linux, and file-browsing works properly.

In addition, the 36-item online update ran quickly and worked through to program verification box, with no problems.

Adam - This very good Forum Function also works directly from Linux.

Regards, Dave.
