Craaaaaazy amount of moiré with a K-30!

Is that a photo taken of a photo on a screen?
It can be a screen or PP effect. Does it look that way at 100%?

Looks pretty serious. You may want to get that checked by your doctor...

Looks like bad downsampling to me. The only time I've ever seen moiré on any picture I've taken was on a moving walkway at the Denver airport. I took the picture with a K-r. The moiré didn't show up in the RAW file, so I think it was caused by the JPEG engine choking on the group of extremely fine parallel lines created by the walkway.

You can see fringe patterns near the bottom of the picture. Ironically, I've never seen anything even close to this on my K-5 IIs.

That pattern at the bottom of your image is definitely not a result of moire from the camera since the subject matter was moving in the scene. So this would be a result of downsampling. Agree this is more of a risk of developing in PP rather than innately from the camera

Believe it or not, that's a 100% crop without PP. No downsampling happening there. I've never seen anything like that...i've seen some moire on my shots a couple of times, but not like this one.
And no, it's not a photo of a screen.

Did it appear this way on the camera when magnified?
Was it shot in RAW or JPEG ? That can potentially accentuate the moire in JPEG (if settings for in-camera processing are right).

Shot in RAW...i still have the original RAW file in here.
I posted this just to show it to people, it didn't really bother me...it's easy to correct, and i've never seen it happen like that again.
