K5 Seems Ok After Firmware update

Here are some quick shots I took today using liveview. Auto focus seems right on now, and out of about 65 shots 63 were spot on in this horrible overcast day. Never had another freeze.

Those are nice looking shots and I'm pleased that your problems seem to be resolved after updating your firmware.

But just as an observation, having taken notice of your threads regarding the K5 here and in that other forum. It struck me that you were extremely anxious after ordering your K5 almost to the point of buyer's remorse before the new camera even arrived. And with all the pre-delivery fretting, your finding problems with your K5 right out of the box sounded too much like self-fulfilling prophecy. In short you were setting yourself up to expect failure and disappointment and so you found it. I could have predicted the reaction your report of problems provoked especially after admitting your firmware was not current. But now everything seems OK after a few simple operations.. Was the stress you created for yourself in advance of experiencing any real problems worth it? Relax, take a deep breath and enjoy your new toy. The pictures shown so far are quite nice.

Sounds like you are recovering from your paranoia......you must have received the Valium and Xanax Otis sent you? Works wonders, doesn't it!

Relax, it all works out......
