I have noticed that my new K5 sometime makes two pictures in stead of one.
The transport function is set as one single shot.
The only thing I suspect is the option "One push Bracketing" (c-2-9).
It looks like when that's switched one, it happens more often.

Anybody with the same experience or idea's.

I've noticed when I'm slow releasing the shutter button the camera will sometimes fire a second shot as I release it, even if I'm in single-shot. My situation I suspect is likely due to switch bounce and the camera registering it as a second shutter button press.

Yes, this happens from time to time here, too.
I think it is nothing to worry about.

No, that sounds more like the K5 shutter flop problem.

Here's the info regarding the "smoking gun" AKA, the mirror flop issue:

I don't think this is due to the problem reported above.
In this case, it is a single shot firing immediately after the first one, and it is not consistent.
This also happens, sometimes, with my K20D, K7 and K5.

My ten cents !

It's indeed one single shot.
So I hope that it's not the mirror flop issue.
I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one...

Both the K-20D and K-5 on rare occasions.

K200D not a single time during all 32k + shots

Never with my K20 but a few times now with my new K5, and with only about a hundred actuations on it.
Just a single extra flip, I failed to check if it actually took a second photo but definitely will if and when it happens again.

Cees, is this happening in live view? the mirror needs to flop down before it makes the exposure, and it sounds kind of like 2 photos are being taken when using liveview mode.

My K-7 does this occasionally, and so has my new K-5. I think it's just a sensitve shutter release button design. My K20D never did it.

I know this is slightly off, but my K100D Super did the same only on one lens, my DA 16-45. Upon careful inspection, the aperture lever was bent inward about 2mm. I bent it out and it fixed the problem.

Is the problem happening only on one lens? or on multiple lenses? The aperture mechanism in the camera has pretty tight tolerances and if the lever is off then it will not be engaged properly in the camera and the camera will appear to take multiple exposures upon a single shutter depression...

What is reported here (again) is apparently NOT the case of the infamous mirror flop issue.
