My current house is the only home I have owned without a darkroom, but I do use a spare washroom for film developing. I use glass mineral water bottles (San Pellegrino) for chemical storage. They stay in the dark area under the sink, so light is not an issue. The film hangs in a shower stall that I keep dust free. In New Mexico, it is dry in no time. The whole process is pretty quick and painless.

When the new addition goes in, I may get that space again.

PLEASE don´t use bottles for mineralwater, lemonade etc. for the storage of chemical fluids . It is just dangerous (and forbitten :ugh: )

Neutral brown bottles are cheap - perhaps you can ask you chemist to get some.

Recycling is good, and properly labeled and stored bottles are no more dangerous than photochemical bottles from the store. Bottles in the U.S. are not standardized, and you can find all kinds of things sold in all kinds of bottles. The label is the key.

I asked at the chemist's today for bottles and they have none. Not only that but they could tell me of nowhere that sells scientific equipment in town, so no bottles, graduated cylinders etc.

I could try water bottles but most now come in plastic. If they come in glass they have those tops with the seal that breaks off. These do not ever again form a perfect seal. It's adequate to keep the bubbles in the fizz for a day or so but I would not trust it to quickly evaporating chems.

But I will have a look.

Most of the time, I actually only need one bottle that seals. I mostly use liquid concentrates for the developers, and the fixer is the only thing I don't discard after one use. The rest I mix in a jar right before using.

And by the way.. Few days ago I shoot a roll of something called Shanghai GP3 - ultra cheep 120 BW film which I received from my friend to do some testing in Rodinal developer. What do you think? I think it looks quite nice

That cheap film does have a nice quality to it, perhaps even more pleasing than the others.

It looks really pleasant. I have to buy myself few rolls and shoot in different conditions. Beside of that the sharpness is grate, and it was taken with FA45-85 lens wide open at long end. I consider changing it for the FA150/2.8 but actually I don't think it's such a good idea to sell it.
