Thanks for the nice comments on my four landscape shots, all P6x7 non-MLU hand-held with Fuji NPH400 given a generous exposure. The first two are high in Yosemite near the pass, the road closed that night due to snow storm... this was October. The Mono Lake shots were the next morning, as we'd made it through before the road closure. In the last shot I was interested in the juxtaposition of the tufa "mountains" and the snowy Sierras beyond.

I passed by this wind farm in route to another destination and really didn't have the time to explore and shoot it. I Stopped by the road and captured this. I think it has more potential and plan to revisit it one day. Next time I'll take my M* 300mm ED IF lens along.

Tuco, I like your windfarm shot (it must be pretty new?); very nice texture/tonality on the slopes, the red filter did the right thing, and the 1-sec exposure a smart move... All in all, a dramatic result. How did you steady the camera, or do you generally have a tripod along?

Thanks. This was taken this last September. I've been going through shots that I never got to the first time around. Yes, a tripod and I always have one in the car. This was shot with a compact tripod one you can easily carry around and I do. I also use a WLF.

Behind the auto body shop, a frequent stopping point. In fact, it's in the alley behind the Law Office above...

You're going to have to help me out on this one. What am I seeing? Or is it suppose to be abstract.

"Abstract" is probably the best way to see this.... It's in the discard bin behind the auto body shop, so it's various bits and pieces of crash-damaged sheetmetal. Fenders, hoods, bumpers, doors, etc. Always different stuff in random order, interesting visually.

Gary, I don't mean to be rude but are you doing much sharpening? Are you scanning from the negative?
This looks like a great scene and a nice shot but I think it really needs some "punch".
On another note, I have my first ever roll of Arista EDU 100 to process soon, looks interesting. I am hopefully about to purchase the 55mm too for some wide angle fun.

cheers,
Jason

Jason, I certainly don't think you are rude. You are right. I seem to be having trouble getting from a finished tiff on my computer to a JPEG on the forum. On this shot, I resharpened the JPEG and reloaded to Photobucket, and edited my post. Please look at my post again and see if it looks better.

Thanks, Gary

I don't think it is sharpening in post though that looks improved some. But maybe your scanner isn't focusing sharply on the negative? Some scanners are fixed focus and the need the negative in their carrier with its distance off the glass.

I don't have a macro or extension tubes for this camera yet. But my new 50mm FLE I recently acquired for it would have done the job.
