this sounds like a typical US government leak from a "high ranking official"

It is not official until there is a publication by the company

Supposedly official from Pentax Europe. This is the precis:

One caveat is that the OP in the dpr article has a name that seems to translate as White Shark.

Also I don't think it would be a good marketing idea to have K-r as a camera name. Too easy to corrupt it to K-r[ap].

Any one of us could have taken the rumors from this forum and created a similar post with it. There's only a little bit of information on there that I haven't read here before.

Still, with these particular rumors gaining steam, I think it's likely that these rumors are beginning to approach the eventual truth.

I would say that if the EVIL camera does come out this year it will surely be APS-C. Why change the form factor of a sensor or implement a new sensor? Maybe all of the old KX sensors will go into the EVIL.

Anyway. All they have to do is provide an adaptor IN THE BOX that allows all k-mount lenses on it and Pentax will have a winner.

Pentax is finished and to be sold off and bought up by Canon.
