I'd rather be able to plug the camera into my Blackberry as an external screen than have a tilt/swivel screen.

that`s correct
however that means all my lenses canīt really be used anymore

so i prefer Pentax or any other camera with tilt lcd and a Pentax K/mount

That's a great idea if it works.

The GH1 is M43 (Micro Four Thirds) so there are adapters that will let you mount and use Pentax lenses. Focus and aperture will be manual control though.

The GH1 also comes with a well regarded 14-140mm zoom (28-280mm in 35mm world).

I've coveted this camera for quite some time...

Very neat idea indeed. There'll be an iPhone/iPad app for that, eventually.

I understand your desire for a tilt swivel screen on the K-7, but don't you think that would affect the the WR of the camere? Its hard to maintain WR when you have hinges and parts that move around.

i think that's not the problem - Olympus E3 has tilt-swivel LCD and it's fully weather-sealed.

I shoot outdoor and I prefer a fixed, simple LCD that does not trap dust, mud and dirst. WR is a key feature of the K-7/K-20/K-10 cameras. This is more important....

Everyone is entitled to have a different opinion off course, but a tilt swivel creen would be useless for many of my outdoor shooting.

Not only tilt-swivel, but detachable also. That's the next step. :ugh:

+2.
Just stick a mirror on a 45 degree bracket behind the camera and learn to read upside down and backwards.

Cheers, Mike.

My canon P&S camera had a tilt-swivel LCD (S2IS) which I thought it was great. However, I find the LCD on my KX to do pretty well, especially for overhead shots. Tilt-swivel LCD is still nice to have tho.

The only time I think that I might find a tilt swivel screen useful would be awkward macro shots on a tripod. Even then I think a larger screen with good viewing angles is better.

From my experience tilting screens have a lot of bezel and given how rarely Id use the tilting future Id rather have a fixed screen
