Pentax does it again

At the end of the Race that stop Australia The Melbourne Cup it finished in a dead heat.

Problems? None whatsoever.Why?

Because Pentax System has no problem in awards the cup winner by photo finish

As seen on Network channel 7 sports

The Melbourne Cup horse race - biggest horse race in Australia - was run this afternoon - first Tuesday in November. The first and second place getters were "a lip" apart and the sponsor of the photo image demonstrating the closeness of the finish was Pentax. A big Pentax logo in the corner of the screen and the catch phrase as quoted by Cupic above "Make No Mistake".
See here for details:
http://www.melbournetrackreport.com/pages/melbourne_cup_betting_history_statistics.html

This advertising was brilliant for this market as of the 25 million or so Australlians and 6million NZers 22 million people would have watched the race and seen that logo.

I can't seem to find the photo image...

But it looks like's Bart Cummings has done it again too. As said in the SMH, "Not bad for an 80-year-old."

I saw it to - the the two horses separated by a nose hair and that great Caption "Pentax -Make No Mistake" it was awesome.

In Perth we were also getting a Pentax ad every break in conjunction with Dick Smith Stores - they heavily promoted the K200D. It wasn't just a plain retail ad either it was a quality production, a fair bit of money and thought had gone into the ad.

For those that don't know about it the Melbourne Cup Horse race basically stops the nation and is also very popular in New Zealand as well - so it would be safe to say that a significant amount of the Australian population were exposed to the Pentax brand today.

Well, I hope someone would put that video up on YouTube or something. I'd definitely be interested to see that.

And actually, it stops ours too. That's mostly because we're all slacking off watching because of our office sweepstakes.

I saw the Pentax logo too, and was surprised, and pleased. Good old 'trap in focus' mode, eh?

The weather changes from incredibly cold and rainy to bright sunny day in a few hours. I let go this year's event. These organisers like to chase down the images captured by the spectactors with cameras...

Great to see CRK promoting PENTAX at the Melbourne CUP. If those who watched the Indy car race on the Gold Coast, there was yellow NIKON every were on the track! But I think The Melbourne CUP is a better event to advertise in, bigger demo! Male & Female young and old.. The Indy more a young male demo (Nikon jewerly). I wish they were advertising the K20D with the DA* 16-50MM. Or at least the K200D with PENTAX glass not Sigma!

the cup on u tube.. photo finish at end of clip "Make No Mistake"

Here are some of mine. K20D with Sigma 500 F/4.5 at about 100 yards away.

These are about 200 yards away.
