New Shoot Rushes

Just got back from a long day shooting a 10-12 page story and cover. Here are 2 samples RAW not retouched...

Will add as they come in.

Again, wonderful imagery. I'm beginning to suspect what techniques you are using to get the effects you are getting, but I shall keep my theories to myself; lest I make a complete fool of myself.

Again, honestly I don't think this should go in the News and Rumours section.

Ben, thanks again for posting your un-retouched work. It's very interesting to see.

I particularly like the shadows in the second photograph.

Ben, these are such eye-opener images. I would die to have images appearing like yours.

The last set with the transparent glossy paper over model's face is really standing out. Almost creepy to an extent but effective attention drawer. Gothic or alternative. I really love it.

That explains why I thought the first two pics were pretty disturbing w/ zombie girl

Great execution. I've always been meaning to ask...where do you get the ideas for what to do w/ your shoots? Do you just get a theme and then you get to try to come up w/ something that fits or do you get more guidance from the editors?

Hello;

As in a film, I always start with a theme and develop the shoot from that theme and what follows is a story board.

Fear of Death Female are my favorite. They seem to have the sharpness that is lacking in the first few pics. Or is that my monitor?

Fear of Death female is my favorite too. I like it a lot - which is kind of disturbing since she really looks dead to me...

These are excellent Ben. Very creative and such an excellent lighting setup. I'm always impressed at the quality of you raw work nad how good it is even before post work is done. Like others, I appreciate the opportunity to see a sample of what you do from time to time. When you have the video of "a day on the set with Ben" I'll buy one.
