K-01 for $346 at Adorama - NEW
Posted By: Adam, 11-01-2012, 09:36 AM

The price of the K-01 just dropped by $200. Wow!

Pentax K-01 Digital Camera Body, Black 15222 ($346.95)

With the 40mm it's $446.95:

Edit: this is an authorized Pentax deal, and B&H is now showing it as well:

Good! It's at a good price!

Actually a bit below what I think the proper price should be, but that's ok too!

I guess "K-01 by Marc Newson" just doesn't have the same appeal as "Beats by Dre".
Maybe they should have had a rapper design it.

Wow - that is amazing. If I had any extra cash right now I'd have to seriously consider getting one

My hunch is that Ricoh wants Hoya-driven products to go away. A 50% price drop in less than a year is pretty crazy.

Terrific deal for whoever is interested. Once you get around its (well-documented) quirks the image quality is superb.

My thought was, them must have something in the oven for early next year.

The prices at Adorama are not "grey market" I just bought K-01 w. lens and package, free shipping. Says 1 YEAR warranty in ad.

I couldn't resist either...great deal on the camera and the 40mm as well. Also, it is the same price for the little bundle which nets you an extra battery and 16gb SD card (I think...and a few other goodies). Had some Amazon.com giftcard money, put to good use!

Also, people who want to take advantage of the 5.5x crop factor for ultra telephoto use.

Oh wait - you said 'right mind.' Pass
