Looks like Kipon has C mount and D mount adapters on ebay now. $35 shipped from HK to the US. Might work great with some CCTV lenses.

Anyone interested?

I guess this also means cheap Kipon K mount to Q mount adapters can't be far away.

Wow, that was quick. The others will likely show up soon. This should give the Q some push.
thanks

Interesting i am, thank you for the news.
But i wonder wether any C-mount lens is actually up to the image quality of the prime lenses...
Has anyone an idea of it ?

Second question : a lot of C-mount lenses do have electrical wires attached to them, how can they work with the Q mount ?

Third question : some of the most short focals in C-Mount are "Infra Red" lenses, how would that effect image quality on the Q sensor ?

So I took the plunge and ordered the C mount adapter for my Q. I also ordered a K mount to C mount adapter so I put my K mount lenses on it. I'm curious to see how my 70-300mm Tamron zoom looks on this! :-) I also found a nice Pentax 6mm F/1.2 C mount lens on ebay. So at least I'll have a wide angle lens to play with. It's about a 34mm FoV, but MUCH faster than that toy wide lens.

So by using two adapters together, it is already possible to put a K lens on the Q? Wow. Does the K to C adapter have a manual aperture adjustment for lenses without aperture rings? Would love to try the Pentax 300 F4. Was the wideangle C mount lens expensive. Can't wait to see your results.
thanks

I ordered the Kipon K mount to C mount adapter for about $30. It has no aperture control. I saw one that looks like it might have aperture control for $47. But the website description doesn't mention it. Since my lenses I'd use are mostly ones with aperture rings, I got the kipon. The other one is at camcor.com if you're interested.

The 6mm lens was used. I got it for $60. You can get it new for $109.

Great info. Will check out the adapters and lenses. The C mount stuff looks kind of confusing with all this 1" and 1/2" stuff. Guess both fit same adapter and cover the small Q sensor?
thanks

The 1/2 lenses will cover the 1/2.3 sensor of the Q. So will a 2/3 or a 1". But with those lenses you'll have a lot of the image circle that will be wasted on a small sensor like the Q. But who knows? Maybe it would be like using a full frame lens on an APS-C body and getting just the sweet spot. I'd be worried about the lens resolution though. Just make sure you avoid the 1/3 and 1/4 lenses.
