Q10 Peaking

Not the best quality video around, but it shows the focus peaking on the Q10. It surely will be in the production firmware.

Nice! Thanks for posting that. I expect to try it out on Friday here in Toronto (local camera expo), but I'm not sure if it will be on production firmware or not.

I hope it's a firmware upgrade on the Q, too. Manually focussing my A400 on the Q is about the only time I've wished for in-lens optical stabilisation!

Oh wow! That's what I've been waiting for. Too bad I have no money at the moment; but I will have one, if peaking becomes a reality, at some point.

I'm also really hoping for focus peaking to be added to the Q, but Pentax has a pretty sad history when it comes to adding features via firmware to "older" cameras...

I think peaking overrated. I'd much rather see Pentax enable SR for manual lenses.

Looking forward to your report panoguy especially about the focus peaking and build quality/feel - subscribed.

Agreed, i don't use it with K-01 because i find it too unaccurate, and prefer the lupe.

I find it essential with the NEX-5N. It works very well for me.

The peaking on the K01 is quite different though. It's not colored, more a sort of shimmer on the image. The way Sony has done it is much easier to use. Sony also has the one touch focus assist, giving a nice CLEAR enlarged view.

Focus assist (without peaking) works very well on both the NEX and the Q. IMO peaking is a gimmick whereas SR is far more useful.

Sure SR would be great, it has been rumored they'd release it since the camera came out. Maybe with the official adapter they will. I still think peaking is way faster and more useful than focus assist in most situations, at least for me. I am glad I have both, however.

Just an update - I saw and played with the Q10 and the adapter today. See my video and photos and notes in this thread.
