Took the wife's Q to a volley ball tournament

Actually left the K5 at home and just took the Q with the standard lens. Here are some of the results, all taken at iso 800 and f:2 Most of them are heavily cropped, I took them all in horizontal orientation.

It won't replace the K5 but for the lighting conditions in a school gym it did a respectable job.

Knowing how poor the light is under those conditions I did not expect to see such nich shots. Very nice work with the Q.

Great stuff, Heinrich.
Answers the longstanding question; "Is the K-5 any good for indoor sports?"

"Try the Q!"

Nice shots. The noise has a nice grain to it. I suspect film photographers would have had to use very fast glass to get comparable results 15 years ago.

Thank you, This is fast glass, all were shot at f:2. The difference would have been iso, Kodak Tri X B/W at 400 iso pushed to 800 iso would have had worse grain than this. For these images I used NIK for both NR and sharpening. I also did both NR and some sharpening in the raw converter of elements 11.
