Rubinar Makpo 1000mm F10 Mirror

Here's the Q with a 1000mm Rubinar Mirror. The second shot is equivalent to what you can see with the naked eye.

My apologies for not moving this sooner, I thought you were going to do it.

Elgeet 7mm 1.5 C-mount

Elgeet 7mm f1.5 taken off a 16mm bolex.

It's got a very filmy feel when using camera black and white.

It can also be tack sharp when stopped down and focused properly (f4.6).

The lens also has a very strange bokeh/highlight fisheye/halo (paint, not lenses) effect.

Purple fringing is also pretty pronounced when shooting against a backlit subject.

The lens is 3.5" long when mounted with an adapter and weights about as much as the Q. All shots 5M jpg, 3star, IR filter, +1 sepia, -2 high key, +4 contrast, +2 fine sharpness.
The lens focuses to infinity without a shim and the scale focus is accurate to 3ft, then becomes very unreliable.
Minimal vignetting (if any).

I'll try to get some shots in good light tomorrow.

Pentax Q DIY Pinhole lens

In short, I tried to make a Skinkpinhole lens for the Q at a much lower cost.

Aesthetically it has that slim look that just suits the Q well.

I heard rumors that the machining work is a bit subpar with loose tolerances and I actually think that Visualdarkness Inc once again went with paper in the construction, the good news is that it's a sturdier paper and it's actually taped this time.

I think it's pretty much on par with the Skinkpinhole shots that are out there, except for the wonky OOF highlights, but that's not saying much and I doubt that you can see a MTF with the lens. My very unscientific (it's way too hard to see a target) focal length testing tells me that it's between 9-11mm, probably at the lower end.

This pillow was the best target for FL testing due to large colorful areas so that I could measure by something.

This one makes me dizzy.

Yes, it's actually a lamp.

A flower or a hugging seamonster?

Can you guess the lenses?

Pentax Q DIY Toy Lens with Macro

I had read a lot of complaints about that the images Pentax toy lenses produce aren't toy like enough for the Q. So what could I do about it?

I had a 35mm Delta lens that I couldn't sell with a clean conscious, it was too bad, so It got slaughtered a while ago and out popped lens after lens and suddenly a rigid group of lenses. Today I tested if it fitted inside a toilet roll (normal?) and it was almost form-fitted!

Some cut-cut and tape-tape later:

You simply focus by pulling the inner tube in or out, very little movement required!

And how do the pics look like? Toyish enough?

Holga, you can't beat it!

Wollensak 1 inch f/1.5 cine velostigmat

25.4mm f1.5 C mount 16mm film lens, taken of an old bolex that had seen better days.

Lens has been dropped at least once (big dent in the filter ring) so the wide open behavior may be atypical of this lens. But I doubt it

f4? Depth of field was about a foot and a half at most.

The bokeh is pretty smooth at f8 and the scale focus is pretty much dead on.

f1.5, wide open. The depth of field is a few millimeters at best and everything is bloomed out. I wouldn't shoot at anything below f2.8, highlights and edges get blown. Unless you like the look...

All shots 12M jpg, 3star, IR filter, +1 sepia, -2 high key, +4 contrast, +2 fine sharpness, ISO 640. All images were taken at f8 unless noted. No shim seems to be needed for infinity focus.

1more lens from the old bolex, but it's a 90mm, so I don't know when I'll get to try it out.

That f0.95 handles wide open a lot better than I thought it would. Nice lens.

And the last shot of the set shows it is a good all around performer.

Thanks, I bought that lens as a package with two other 25mm f1.3 Computars (haven't tried them yet) for I think $60. The aperture ring just spins freely without stopping down the lens. Not that big of a deal as I bought it to shoot wide open anyway. I use a ND filter on it as needed.

Just managed to adapt Fujinon 17mm on Q. I think they look good together:

I still can't figure Q colors, nevertheless lens seems useful.
