Additional Comments:

I use this for macro with a ttl based ring flash and also find it great to manual focus with vintage glass including K-mount and m42 lenses.

5764142HiddenBought new, still looks and works like new. I have newer Pentax DSLR's but keep my *ist-D because it works great, has TTL flash, which I need for bellows and slide copy work using flash bounced back up the bellows. No newer Pentax DSLR can do this!B&H Photo, NY

5764088HiddenBought as a spare body and to use with older lenses. Works really well and its' relative simplicity means it's often a preferred choice. A bit slow by modern standards and a small screen but still a reliable workhorse.e-bay

5646712HiddenHad been tossed in donations bin for a place I volunteer at.
Included Sigma 70-300 and 28-80. Was non-functional, swapped in new set of AA's, and a new button cell, and it lives. Joystick/rocker only functions up and down, both dials sticky and occasionally skip forwards or backwards a few steps, needs a good clean but functions well with DA35.
Oddly, FA 35-80 seems sharper on this body then on K-01.
Focus seems more then fast enough, though it hunts if re-framed.
