Voigtlander 90/3.5 APO-Lanthar - first shots

After few days with it I can tell it is handy, sharp from 3.5, very nice bokeh at 3.5. Good color rendition and contrast. Very good portrait lens. here are some examples.

I recently bought the Voitlander 125 from Stephen Gandy at CameraQuest. The lens is beautiful. I've been working with it for several days but have not come up with an image I am happy with yet. It's my weakness and not the lens. Here's a shot made today.

What's not to be happy with in this shot? The light is nice and the shot is colorful, sharp, and composed nicely?

I'm really enjoying seeing pics taken with these Voigtlander lenses. There's a softness to the colors that I really like. Kinda reminds me of Agfachrome or something.

I have a bunch of Cosina-Voigtlander lenses but all in Leica mounts for use on my rangefinders. I hold them in very high regard in terms of quality (both optics and build) and they are exceptional bargains. I'm interested to see more shots from the Voigtlander SLR lenses. One lens that I wish that I had gotten for the Pentax was the 75mm/f2.5 Heliar. It is a gorgeous portrait lens - very sharp and with creamy bokeh wide open. I got one in Leica screw-mount and I use quite often. Unfortunately, the SLR version of the lens was discontinued and sold-out pretty much everywhere.

Also can't say enough of Stephen Gandy at Cameraquest. Great guy and great service.
