I am a bit confused about the P/K-A mount and adaptor needed. Back in the day I had a Ricoh XRM and an assortment of Pentax mount manual lenses. They've all been sitting on the shelf in hibernation until recently when I got back to SLR's with the K20. The only lens with an "A" setting was a Vivitar 28-85, so of course that was the one I was most excited about trying. But it didn't fit on the Pentax body. As it turns out it was also the only one with a P/K-A mount instead of just PK. I thought they would all fit since they must have fit the Ricoh. So in searching this forum for info, the only hits for P/KA mount mentioned "Adaptall" and all the mentions of "Adaptall" were in regards to Tamron (as opposed to Vivitar or other 3rd parties). So I'm confused about what I would need to use this lens on the K20.
It is the raised plastic portion that is too long to fit. All the others have a mush shorter raised portion. Sorry for the 'thing-a-ma-jig' terminology.
So, my stupid questions ... should it have fit directly? If not, what kind of adaptor do I need, and how much should it cost? And finally, is the lens even worth the effort?
Thanks for your help.
