This is all VERY good !! ... from what I can see from the previous posts :
PENTAX smc DA 560 mm / 5,6
Langerwartetes Teleobjektiv für K-Bajonett für Sport und Naturaufnahmen
Markteinführung 2012
it should be released in 2012, right? (I don't know German).
This here: "smc PENTAX-DA 560mm F5.6
Unifocal super-telephoto lens for use with K mount interchangeable-lens digital cameras
Sharp, well-defined images — particularly with distant subjects — thanks to the adoption of optics used in astronomical telescopes" , again very good, but what is this about the technology used in astronomical telescopes? What am I missing?
To summarize: a long awaited long tele lens for my NEEDS (vs. my "wants") albeit f5.6.
But, with the K5 it shouldn't matter much if one has to crank up the ISO a bit more.
I am now very familiar with the DA*300/4 and I am hoping that this will be just as good in IQ.
Another good thing: it sure won't be as expensive as the Sigma 500/4.5 I have been considering.
Good news ... good posts.
Thanks for sharing and posting, folks!

Forgot this bit: "
particularly with distant subjects " ... what else would you most of the time use a 560mm lens for?
