Is there a mount for Minolta lenses, on a k10d body?

I have a bunch of old minolta film lenses, and I would like to use them on my k10d.
Does anyone know of a mount that would let me use these?

Yep, it's called a Sony A100, A200 or A700. (will do mostly the same stuff a K10D will do).

The only K-mount adapters that exist are M42 to K, Pentax 645 to K, Pentax 67 to K, and the Tamron Adaptall T-mount adapters.

Whether a mount will work and permit infinity focus depends on the flange to film distance. Makes that have a longer distance can be adapted to a body with a shorter distance - for example, back in the day, Konica had a short distance and therefore nearly any other lens could be adapted.

Minolta's distance is shorter than Pentax, therefore no mount.

Looking at the Wiki table, I see why Canon seems to have mounts for so many other lenses... not that stuff like metering will work, but at least the lenses can focus to infinity.

Right, the MD to K is not going to happen If you did take the time, there would be no infinity focus.

The EF Canons have an almost perfect register distance.

My Canon is off by one full stop either over (90% of usage) or under (less light) in Av mode. It's rare to get a perfect exposure without using M. But, other's mileage varies and some can use Av without issue.

i don't believe old Minolta MD lens works with new Minolta camera (not as well as K lens working with new Pentax camera)

You can only use Minolta MD and MC mount lenses with an adapter on the Sony/Konica-Minolta A-mount cameras. These adapters also have a glass element in order to achieve inifinity focus and badly degrade image quality.

You can use MC/MD lenses on Olympus 4/thirds cameras with an adapter

Pentaxians,

Yesterday, I did sucessfully convert the Minolta MC Rokkor-PF 58/1.4 into P/K. I repeated almost exactly the same as cogitech in his instruction of converting the Minolta 58/1.2 to EOS How to Convert Your Minolta MC Rokkor 58mm f1.2 Lens to Canon EOS Mount . The only extra work is to sand the lens mount shim a little more. This helps the lens focus to infinity due to the longer register distance of P/K compared to EOS.

Everything works fine and here are some sample shots of the Minolta MC Rokkor-PF 58/1.4 on my K10D

ranamar,
The minolta MC 1.2 mount is better suited for conversion then the other MC series. I have both and the newer MD series is well suited to conversion. The finished lens with the new K mount must seat 2mm further from the sensor/film plane for Pentax. I have a MD 1.7 and it looks easy to convert to me, but I have to many 50mm lenses already. Maybe if I come accross a deal on a wide or portrait MD lens, I'll do one.

Very impressive! Very impressive indeed!

What did you use for the K-mount?

I used a M42->P/K adapter, the one with flange similar to M42->EOS
