Forever Keeper Lenses

I saw the same thread on mflenses, so I decide to make one here. I know some lenses would come and go. But I want to know which one(s) would be your keeper(s) till you part this world .

With my current collection, i'll keep these forever

Primes:

Pentax FA* 24
FA 31 LTD
FA* 85
VL 125
FA* 200

I removed zooms, cause I realize none of them can give me the feel of my primes.

of mine i would have to say:

voightlander 125
voightlander 180
FA 1.7x converter

Probably the FA 50 1.4, though it is pretty cheep i could see myself getting another one or a pancake in the future to replace it if they do a super fast pankcake lense a few years from now.

If you are giving me a choice about how many I can keep; then all of the lenses in my sig.
If I can only choose 1; my M 85 f/2.

My shooting is a little different when I see your list but I'll agree with all of those Although I don't own the VL125, DA*16-50, FA*24 or *85 (but I used this lens and it's everthing and more!).
So My list (although I own others):
FA50 f2.8 macro
31mm Ltd
43mm Ltd*
77mm Ltd*
Tamron 28-75 f2.8 Di
Sigma 70-200 f2.8
Sigma 12-24 (only because it's FF and there's no vignetting)*

Need to add:
Sigma 10-20
Pentax 300 (F*, FA* or new DA*)
Sigma 105* or 150mm Macro

Dreaming: Replace the 50-500 with the Sigma 500 f4.5 but who knows?

*I've recently sold these to pay for some issues but will get them back again very soon.

DA12-24
FA 31
FA 43
FA 77
FA*200
F *300
Not much LBA with this lot although I occasionally contemplate a fisheye and a * Macro just because they're there. Dave

...so far i like the ones I have and wouldn't give up any of them...
except for maybe the kit lens if I could replace it with something better.

Same here, I think. I've actually pared down my collection to what I probably will keep forever - probably.

But if I were to rank them - in my top five this particular day:

77ltd
DA* 50-135
SMC M 85 f/2
SMC Takumar 135 f/3.5
Voigtlander 180 f/4
...

DA 70mm F2.4 LTD
A 50mm F1.7

Waiting to see how the new 17-70 and 60-260 turn out or it would be a 100-300 F4 sigma again

Well, here's a short list of my most cherished lenses:
Flektogon 20/4
Arax 35/2.8 Tilt/Shift
Porst 55/1.2
Helios 40-2 85/1.5
Voigtländer 125/2.5
Voigtländer 180/4
Pentax F*300/4.5
Tamron 70-150/2.8 Soft Focus

Of course, these are all full frame lenses. I have one or two nice lenses for crop format (like the Pentax DA 10-17/3.5-4.5 fisheye zoom, or even the underestimated 18-55/3.5-5.6 kit lens) but they cannot be considered as keepers IMHO. Some of my most expensive lenses also didn't make it to the list for various reasons (like the FA 77/1.9 Limited because of its ugly purple fringes).

Cheers!

Tough choices ... since over the years I've parted with a number of lenses that I thought I'd never sell.

My "current" list of lenses I'll keep forever (unless I decide to sell them) is:

DA 40mm f/2.8 Limited
DA 70mm f/2.4 Limited
Jupiter 9 85mm f/2
Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG

The FA 50mm f/1.4 used to be on this list, but I'll probably sell it as soon as the DA* 55mm f/1.4 shows up.

I've yet to find a wide angle that I love so completely that I can't part with it. I'm waiting to see what the new DA 15mm Limited can do.

I was pretty impressed with the DA* 200mm when I had it on loan from Pentax, but I haven't decided whether or not that lens is a "must have" compared to a good 70-200mm f/2.8 zoom.

Well, there's only 1 world, so what do you want 3 50's for?

Id sell just about anything as long as its still available for re puchace. So the Voigtlander 125 is not going anywhere unless I change system. I sold the 180 though.
Ditto for the FA limiteds if they went out of production.
