Tamron 90mmF2.8 SP

Just bought a Tamron 90mm macro F2.8SP. Did a test macro shot right in my car with the direct on-board flash - what else could I do while raining and testing before the transaction. Oops sorry about the dust. I hardly clean my car.

And another non-macro shot at F2.8. Seems quite comparable to my FA100mmF2.8 which is still with my daughter.

So far very positive and the bokeh seems pleasing.

This lens is simply awesome, and currently available with the $90 rebate. Mine is ordered and on the way. Best of luck to you with yours.

Regards

I bought this lens too and I have to say it is the best lens in my stable. So sharp, so brilliant, so BIG, just awesome.

I hardly use mine ... cos I have been playing with all of my Super Taks ... but have found it to be a very versatile lens though ... great for outdoor portaiture ... or if you really want decent separation on smaller objects indoors.

I think it was money well worth spent for me ... I am always pleased with the images from it.

Nice pix, Daniel. I dithered for weeks trying to choose among PTX, T'ron and Sigma mid-micros.
I decided on the Sigma 105 which will be delivered tomorrow...........hope it produces results as good as yours...........

The 105 is here and I am so far very impressed (it works well w/T'ron 1.4 and P'mstr 1.7 TCs). Here's a sample.........

I bought my Tamron 90mm macro at the Tamron photo workshop I attended in Austin. By buying at the workshop (held at Precision Camera in Austin), Tamron bumped up the rebate by another $30, plus Precision Camera doubled their $20 gift card to $40, so that the final out the door price (after rebates) was $360, which beat by a little any of the online prices I could find. Now, I just need to force myself to get out and take more macro shots.

It's a very nice lens, though. Great IQ and versatile.

^^^ Hmmm ... going to try out using this lens for birdies. I've been using my zoom lens, but not happy with the results. Lots of blur due to camera shake at 250mm.

A quick and dirty macro shot of a ring I wear ... family heirloom from the war (smuggled out of Germany).
