DA* 50-150 vs. 50 vs. kit

A couple of weeks ago, I posed the question: is the 50-135 too much lens for the K100DS. I took some advice, got it and have joined the large group of impressed.

I decided under my own test lab (not really) to compare the the following.

first picture is the FA 50mm F1.4
second is the kit lens 18-55 "I"
third one is the 50-135 which is as good as the 50mm prime.

Shot at f5.6, 1/4s and ISO 400. these are all 2x crops.

The prime, of course, gets the most light... about .5 EV more. Kit lens gets about .5 less light.

It's too close of a call between the 50-135 and the 50 prime as far as I can see under these conditions.

Cool test. The 50-135 will also go faster than the kit lens and longer than the 50mm.

Plus, it is fun.
